1962

1977
The first URMA double cutter head with patented counter supported insert holders is introduced.
1985
The world's first balanceable fine boring head is patented.

1987
A joint venture with Command Tooling Systems USA enables the entry into the US market.
1991
URMA AG is growing and invests into a building extension.

1992
Urs W. Berner takes over the operative management as the new CEO.
1993
The first URMA presetter „Digiset" is introduced.

1996
The German subsidiary URMA GmbH is founded.
1998
The high-performance reaming system „URMA Reaming RM vario" is developed and introduced.

2000
The Brazilian subsidiary URMA Brasil Ltda. is founded in São Bernardo do Campo, Brazil.
2003
URMA AG opens up a HAAS Factory Outlet and hereby becomes the exclusive distributor of HAAS machine tools in Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

2005
Presentation of the innovative reaming system „URMA Reaming RX medium".
2007
The very first UTC (URMA Technology Center) is errected at Iraupen in Spain.

2008
Foundation of URMA Trading Co. Ltd. in China.
2009
The licensed partnership with Paul Horn GmbH allows to be well established in the German region.

2010
The digital fine boring system „DigiTec" is introduced.
2011
The licensed partnership with Sumitomo allows to set foot into the Japanese market.

2013
URMA AG gets involved and participates in the enterprise Iraupen, which is today called „Iraupen URMA".
2015
URMA AG continues to grow strongly and invests into an enlargement of the company facility including an expanded production area, an extensive showroom and office premises.

2016
The worldwide smallest patented modular replaceable insert reaming system is introduced.
2019
URMA moves into the field of additive manufacturing and takes over the Swiss distribution of SLM Solutions.

2020
Next Generation
Jessica Berner (Director Accounting & HRM) and Yannick Berner (Director Digital & Marketing) join the URMA executive board.
